Child Safeguarding and Protection

Built around empowerment, prevention, protection, partnership and accountability, following the INSPIRE global package and family-centred case management.

Child Safeguarding and Protection

Overview

We put in place measures that prevent and respond to all forms of abuse, neglect, exploitation and violence against children. Our safeguarding work is built around empowerment, prevention, protection, partnership and accountability, and it follows the INSPIRE global technical package through capacity building, advocacy and partnership with community structures. Case management runs through the work, identifying, assessing, planning, referring and tracking support in a way that is timely, context-sensitive and family-centred. Ubuntu values of caring, sharing, respect and compassion anchor every step.

What this programme includes

Prevention and protection

We deliver resilience and healthy-coping programmes in schools, workplaces and neighbourhoods, strengthening the social networks that protect wellbeing.

Integrated care

We connect our support to primary healthcare and community health centres so that people can move easily between services.

Community child defenders

We equip para-social workers, Village Health Teams, government structures and religious and cultural leaders to act as community child defenders for sustainable, locally owned protection.
