Evidence is the engine of everything we do. Our research generates the understanding that better policy and practice depend on, across a deliberately wide field. We design programmes from data, learn as we deliver, and turn that knowledge into services that NGOs, government and donors can use.
What this programme includes
A wide research agenda
Social stratification and inequality, rights of marginalised groups, gender-based violence, AI and digital media in society, environmental policy and justice, and climate change in East Africa.
Social and political determinants
Political behaviour and systems, mental health and social determinants, and poverty, labour and sustainable development.
Evidence that travels
Our findings feed directly into our programmes and into the wider sector through the planned Data for Development Unit.
